UNESCO World Heritage Site
Albania
Iconic prehistoric, Roman and medieval urban centre, at risk from subsidence, erosion and visitor impact. We were part of an international team developing a Conservation Management Plan. As well as identifying conservation issues, we undertook Disaster Risk Management planning, visitor analysis, photogrammetry and mapping of archaeology and heritage assets.

A rare early Georgian country house with later additions, but empty for 30 years and suffering many structural issues. We undertook a Heritage Impact Assessment and Level 3 Historic Building Recording to support removal of later curtilage-listed structures, enabling our client to begin comprehensive restoration of the house as a family home.

UNESCO World Heritage Site
Saudi Arabia
The administrative centre of the First Saudi State during the 18th and 19th centuries. At the heart of the palace was the Majlis - a four-storey mud-brick building for council meetings and administration. We were part of a multi-national team; our role was to undertake a comprehensive historic building record of the Salwa Majlis to inform conservation.

Minsterley Hall was built in the 1580s, and later enlarged by the Marquesses of Bath with profits from lead mining. Our client wished to remove modern structures and re-connect the house with the wider historic landscape. We prepared a Heritage Impact Assessment and provided archaeological advice, enabling informed decision-making to realise our client's ambitions.

Romania
St Stephen's Chapel was built in the 13th century on the site of an earlier castle which had been destroyed by the Ottomans. It is an iconic site in the Háromszék region. We undertook aerial survey to produce georeferenced 3D models of the chapel and surrounding landscape. This work formed part of a project documenting Székely cultural heritage.

Woodstile was developed from the late 18th century as part of wider estate improvements. The farmstead buildings encompassed a mixture of vernacular and 'industrial' elements. Our client wished to sensitively redevelop the site for housing. We delivered Level 3 Historic Building Recording and an Archaeological Watching Brief to support the conservation of these historic buildings.

Known as the 'birthplace of industry', Ironbridge was at the centre of the changes which marked the 18th century industrial revolution. Our work here over many years extended understanding of the earlier industrial history, going back to the 1500s. We have prepared Conservation Management Plans for museum sites and other heritage locations, provided heritage interpretation and planning advice for private- and public-sector clients.

Albania
Albania’s National Historical Museum opened in 1981 to showcase the country’s rich archaeological and cultural heritage. We supported an extensive renovation programme, led by the Ministry of Culture and partly supported by international funding. We prepared a Cultural Heritage Management Plan, Business Plan and Disaster Risk Management Plan in compliance with international reporting standards.

A medieval cruck-framed hall-house, later modified with the addition of a substantial early-18th century brick frontage. Our client wished to extend the house to create additional living space focussed on particular family needs. We provided a Heritage Impact Assessment and supported discussions between client, architect and LPA to enable planning permission and Listed Building Consent.

Wroxeter was one of the largest cities in Roman Britain. As big as Pompeii, it was an important military and administrative centre for over 400 years. A recent research project by academic and commercial partners revealed well-preserved remains of previously unknown buildings. We produced georeferenced 3D models of the excavations, as well as the Roman bathhouse complex and 19th century farm buildings.

Bermuda
Verdmont was built between 1694 and 1714 and formed the centrepiece of a 30-hectare estate. Until emancipation in 1834, the estate was also home to a number of slaves. Verdmont was acquired by the Bermuda National Trust in 1951. Working with US, UK and Bermudian colleagues and institutions, our staff
undertook archaeological survey and excavation — revealing earlier buildings, and recovering 18th- and 19th-century artefacts.

This complex building comprises a late-16th century timber-framed warehouse and a brick mansion of c.1616-18. Saved from slum clearance in the 1930s, Rowley's House was the town's museum until 2006. We undertook aerial survey and photogrammetry, producing 3D models to help inform long-term conservation planning by the local authority owners.

Albania
Krujë is one of the Krujë Castle is an ancient fortified hilltop site, and the historic capital of the Kingdom of Albania; the scene of heroic resistance to the Ottoman Empire. Following earthquake damage a conservation programme was implemented for the main castle museum and the ethnographic museum. We prepared a Cultural Heritage Management Plan, Business Plan and Disaster Risk Management Plan in compliance with international reporting standards.

Belle Vue Cemetery was independently developed in the 1850s; it was closed to new burials in the 1870s, and the land was later sold.
Our client wanted to develop part of the site for housing, but faced regulatory issues and public concern. We delivered a programme of heritage work - including Heritage Impact Assessment, Historic Building Recording and Archaeological Excavation and Watching Brief which enabled sensitive and sustainable development of this challenging site.

Boscobel House was built in the 1630s as a hunting lodge by John Giffard, a prominent Staffordshire Catholic. The house (and the nearby 'royal oak' is most famous for its role as King Charles II hiding place during his escape after the Battle of Worcester in 1651. Our staff and other colleagues undertook a Conservation Management Plan for the house on behalf of English Heritage, to guide and inform future restoration and interpretation.

Johnson Hall was extensively remodelled in the mid-19th century in a mock 'Jacobethan' style; however at its heart is an early Georgian Palladian-style country house. We produced a Heritage Impact Assessment to support planning application for restoration of the house as a family home following several years in multiple occupation. We also used aerial photogrammetry to produce 3D models to inform conservation.

Old Oswestry is a prehistoric enclosure, one of the largest and more complex hillforts in England. It has five ramparts enclosing an internal area of 8.4 hectares. We undertook aerial survey and photogrammetry to produce 3D models and drawings to inform a long-term programme of vegetation management and conservation on the ramparts.

Parts of St Mary's church probably date to the 11th century, with additions in the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. Pevsner described the south chancel chapel roof as ‘the finest roof in Shropshire’. The medieval church was heavily restored in the 19th century. We undertook aerial survey and photogrammetry to produce 3D models and drawings to inform a Lottery-funded project restoring the nave roof.

A former school building dating back to the 1700s, and substantially enlarged and modified in the early 19th century and again in the 1890s. It has been used as a creative space for over 40 years. We undertook aerial survey and photogrammetry, producing 3D models to help inform long-term conservation planning.

Shropshire is the most geologically diverse counties in England; mining has taken place here since prehistory and continued into the 1960s. We have undertaken aerial survey and photogrammetry to produce 3D models of a variety of sites in the Shropshire Hills National Landscape, to provide interpretive material for local groups and to inform long-term conservation.

Oswestry's Cambrian Station was built in 1865 and closed in the 1960s. After many years of mixed use it is now the hub for a volunteer-led charity dedicated to preserving railway heritage of Oswestry. We undertook aerial survey and photogrammetry to produce 3D models as part of a programme of conservation and restoration work on the building led by Shropshire Council.
